FAQs
Who can apply for a grant? What is required for proposal?
All recognized 501(c)(3) organizations are welcome to apply. Proposals must include your mission and story, impact metrics, how much funding you are seeking, and how it will be used to further your mission. Note that awardees are required to share annual impact reports for the term of the grant; if you have one that you can include, we’d love to see it!
When can an organization apply for a grant?
Organizations may apply for a grant any time. The Clark & Kathryn Porter Family Foundation will consider proposals twice per year: in May and in November. Proposals that are not awarded a grant in the first consideration period (i.e., May or November) may be revisited in the following period (the following November or May).
Who are grants awarded to? How can an organization increase its likelihood of receiving a grant from the Porter Family Foundation?
We award grants to 501(c)(3) organizations that have meaningful impact and with whom we share mission and value alignment. We often have direct experience or previous familiarity with the organizations that are awarded grants.
It is unlikely that we will award a grant to an organization that we first hear about when receiving a proposal - if we don’t know your organization yet, we’d love the chance to get to know you! Please reach out to schedule a call or a visit.
